OUR APPROACH
We had to hunt out those who knew Bill well, who were spread out all over the world. We arranged interviews with contributors in Marrakech, Casablanca, New York and Paris. We sought permission in some of the most impressive houses in Morocco, where Bill had designed beautiful spacious interiors. With the help of local Moroccan producers, we arranged filming at short notice and spent several days sifting through Bill’s archives. The film was made over a period of 18 months and was released on billwillis.com
the PROJECT
Sketch was commissioned by Neon to produce a 30 minute documentary about the late American architect, Bill Willis. Bill hailed from the deep south of the US, but ended up living in Marrakech and becoming a highly influential interior architect in Morocco. The aim of the film was to investigate his life and work, told through his many good friends and colleagues. Follow the films instagram’s profile.
